Teething is time when biting activates may happens in many babies, as baby experiences a degree of discomfort when teething begins, this time is the most painful process and irritating time for a little one, these symptoms may appear around the time in 2 months or 3 three months.
Baby girl or a baby boy tries to alleviate the discomfort by chewing down on something, baby look ease his comfort by biting down mother’s breast on this wonderful soft part.
A child may bite simply to get mother’s attention. Baby naturally needs eye contact when he or she is at the breast and get upset when notice mother’s attention is anywhere. Little baby feels neglected if mom is talking to others, as breastfeeding is their special time spent with mother. Biting can be eliminated when baby gets full attention and care. New born can also bite if he slip or feel he about to.
Mother always makes sure that baby feels comfortable and secure. Some also bites when he or she falls asleep and when a mother feels that baby biting phase starts, keep her finger in the corner of the mouth, ready to break the suction.
Teething creates the urge to chomp, in order to lessen breast biting let him have frozen banana or a washcloth, at the end of feeding. Let baby finish her sucking on mom’s finger or a cool substitute.
Every mother passes though the biting but most children don’t bite very much, when the mother state the firm “no” or “no biting” baby quickly learn to stop. Instead of the yank-and-yell response, mother may suddenly, feels like doing this, draw close breast and she will automatically let go in order to open her mouth more and uncover her nose to breathe.
Don’t try to disengage nipple from the clenched teeth. After several times of this counter-instinctive trick of pulling baby in close to will realize that biting triggers this uncomfortable response and she will stop biting.
